Economic and urban development

The trade in England enormously increased during the Middle Ages.
In London, the trade was managed by what we called guilds, these guilds they even elected the mayor of the city. The business streets of London bore the name of the businesses which they contained as the street of the bread which was constituted by bakers...
London knew strong one population growth during the Middle Ages. Her population passed en1100 de15,000 inhabitants in approximately 80,000 in 1300 later J-C.

London Médiéval was a labyrinth to twist streets and alleys. Most of the houses were made by half-timbering or with some lime. There was big threats of fires and the laws were established to make sure that all the owners have the equipment of fire-guard fight. In 13th century, a law is voted so that houses are more covered with the straw, but with the slate.
In London, in the Middle Ages, English did not have make a lot of progress concerning the hygiene. Actually, the plague propagated very fast.
